Pre-formal training started in 1960 in a family of musicians who worked on guitars. Personal training in repair from Bernardo Rico (BC Rich Guitars) Doc Kauffman (Fender/Rickenbacker.)

National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technician Seminars (NAPBIRT) Attended 9 specialty classes. 

International Association of Music Products (NAMM) University Classes. Attended over 50 classes in Marketing, Sales, Management, Fund-raising, Advertising and Customer Service.

Speak, read and write English and basic Spanish. Ability to read some French, Italian, Latin, German, and Dutch including familiarity with musical terms in these languages.

2000: Musical Instrument Conservator, NAMM Museum of Making Music, Carlsbad, CA. Technical preparation of 400 instruments for display and exhibition as a contracted position. Continue to provide technician and consultation services on an as-needed basis.

2002- 2003: Music Coordinator, Flamenco Artist, Daniello De Laurentiis and his group Luna Loka, including performances for the Homeland Security Conference of 27 State Governors. St. Regis Hotel Dana Point, CA and World Series Party, Hilton Hotel Anaheim, CA.

1976 - 78: String/Brass/Woodwind /Percussion Technician, Los Angeles Unified School District. Performed musical instrument repair services for the world's largest instrument repair facility. Part of a team that maintained 30,000 instruments. Repaired for retail stores
APPRAISALS
1996 - present: Apodaca has been appraising musical instruments for 20 years and has developed and maintained an extensive reference library of over 500 books, periodicals and videos. She belongs to various user groups via the Internet, including and Christie's, Julien’s, Bonham, Skinner auction houses. These appraisals have been used for Expert Witness work, Estate Settlement, Noncash Charitable Contribution, Insurance coverage, loss/claim, Private Sales, Bankruptcy. Apodaca initiated and completed the requirements to create the American Society of Appraisers first Musical Instrument Category in December 2011.
